We Celebrate Our Freedom

We Celebrate Our Freedom

(C) 1981 Tim Cator

To celebrate our freedom we ushered Christmas in with Santa on a big, red sleigh full of toys and joys and presents to fit everyone. And now we’ll hop through Easter with a bunny bringing brightly colored eggs and baskets full of candy. All the while we’ll forget the real reason why we celebrate these days… to commemorate the fact that Jesus came to die so that we could live.

We are separated from God because of the evil nature within us. But God sent His Son, Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah, to die for us, to put an end to this dilemma; that is, to all those who believe in Him.

We joke around and try to have so much fun on these holidays that we forget that if it weren’t for Jesus we wouldn’t even have a reason to celebrate.

We say we have faith, but where is the evidence? We should be celebrating our freedom from Godlessness due to the fact that Jesus came to earth, died, and rose again, sinless, to overcome the power of evil within us so that we might live unto holiness. It is no wonder that evil abounds and miracles cease to exist. The power is gone because we have our values set on earthy, shortsighted, selfish gains. While looking at this world we have lost sight of our real home, defected from our true citizenship, and forgotten our first love.

Jesus, when tempted in the same manner, rebuked Satan, telling him to get behind Him. For it is written that you shall worship the Lord, your God, and Him only shall you serve.

We celebrate our freedom by forgetting all that God has done for us. We turn from God and place our own needs above those of our neighbors, thereby violating the two greatest commandments upon which hang all the law and the prophets. The whole of Christianity is wrapped up in these two, greatest commandments while we forget God, forget our neighbor, and think only of ourselves.

Jesus said that He would return to take the believers to Heaven with Him and we’re so busy trying to have fun HERE and get what we want NOW that we don’t realize He means US and the time for living by faith is NOW.

Jesus came to set us free. Nevertheless, when the Son of man comes, shall He find faith on the earth?

Christ will return. Will you be left behind?

WAKE UP. The time is now!

Christ said, Look up for your redemption is near. Behold I come quickly. Be ready for you don’t know when I’ll come. I’ll come when you don’t expect it.

You won’t be ready unless you prepare yourself now.

Now is the day of salvation.

Thought for the day.

If we knew how much we know, relative to how much there is to know, we’d know how little we knew. #WittyWednesday
